Lobster Hole

Lobster Hole Cove is located along the Bay of Fundy coast, on the Scots Bay side of the Blomidon Penninsula.  There are many plume agate veins/seams found throughout the cove area, typically running vertically down the cliff walls and out towards the ocean.  Storm surges and the extreme Bay of Fundy tides continously expose new agate in the cliffs and gravel beaches.

This locality is known for it's abundance of plume agate seams, with red and orange "flame" varieties being most common.  This flame agate provides excellent lapidary material, and cuts/polishes very well into show pieces and jewelry.
